Ben graduated from KU. Kelsey graduated from K State. However, Lawrence is just that gorgeous in the fall that Kelsey was perfectly happy taking her engagement photos there- and of course I was too!
We started out at Potter’s Lake, taking full advantage of the scenery
while dodging other photographers’ clients with the same idea. Afterwards we headed over to the infamous ‘love’ door that has been re-painted over and over again and unfortunately, the love is gone. It’s painted a solid, sad grey now, but I sure hope someone will bring the love back some day (any volunteers?).
I’m not a photographer who likes the idea of using photoshop to completely change a photo, but when Kelsey told me in August that she had her heart set on taking a photo with that garage, I told her I’d do my best to bring the ‘love’ back. Successful? That’s up to you. But they were happy with it, and that’s what matters to me.
We ended our shoot on Mass St., stopping by Liberty Hall and an alley way filled with buildings covered in ivy, which was a perfect spot.
Thank you to Ben and Kelsey for being so easy to work with and for letting me be a part of your story- I can’t wait for the wedding next year! Visit the gallery to see the full collection of their engagement photos!
